My hero in High School, while running XC, Indoor and Outdoor Track for Newark, was Mary Decker Slaney. She pulled no punches and really gave it to the Russians. This is an absolutely awesome video from the 1983 1500 meter championships where she beat not one, not two, but THREE Russians at the finish line. The last 200 meters of this race was a fight to the finish. I don't know about you, but this sure inspires me!!
